Posted: April 16, 2008 The Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art is pleased to announce that Sam Bush, one of the foremost innovators in modern acoustic music, will be performing live on Friday evening, September 12, 2008. Hailed as the “King of Newgrass” by fans and media alike, Bush played an integral role in changing the face of bluegrass music as a founding member of New Grass Revival. He has continued to forge new ground in his solo career, recording five studio albums (four for Sugar Hill) as well as Ice Caps: Live From Telluride. The fact that Ice Caps is Bush’s biggest seller speaks volumes to the power of his live performance. Bush has a knack for working festival crowds into a frenzy making him a commodity the most prestigious events can’t live without. Don't miss it! ![]() Barrage Takes Pawleys Island By Storm! Posted: February 10, 2008 If you missed it in 2007, you will definitely want to put September 13, 2008 on your calendar now. Barrage - described appropriately as a high-octane fiddle fest - had the audience on its feet and demanding more and more! The young international group delighted the Pawleys Island audience with blues-like rhythms all the way to foot-stomping sing-alongs. BUT, don't be mistaken. This is not a bluegrass or country group. It is an eclectic mix of music, accented by the energy of youth and TONS of talent. ![]() Long Bay Symphony Returns Posted: February 06, 2008 Everyone enjoys attending this performance under the stars! Under the direction of Dr. Charles Evans, the Long Bay Symphony will be performing during the 2008 Festival on September 27. More details on their specific musical program are forthcoming. ![]() 2008 Programs to be Announced Soon Posted: February 06, 2008 The Board and Staff of the Festival are busy researching the various events that will be performed this fall. Already the Long Bay Symphony and Barrage (the high-octane fiddle fest that took the audience by storm last year) have confirmed. Look for more details soon. ![]() Festival Celebrates 18th Season!
